In 1991, families were praying for a total enrollment of 350 students for the opening day of school at Providence Christian Academy. On the very first day of classes, Ian Chadwick, our current Director of Advancement, was enrolled as the 350th student at Providence. 

Ian went on to be the Southern Conference leading scorer in basketball for Wofford College in South Carolina and was recruited to play professionally in Austria and Croatia before coaching in Germany.

Ian’s connection to German culture eventually led him and his wife to be called to the mission field in Germany. Ian, along with his wife and four children served as church planters in Germany for seven years before returning to the states to join Providence as the Director of the Advancement Team.

In the past 30 years, Providence has built a reputation for blending top-tier academics with an integrated special needs program, while staying true to the covenant-school mission. Providence serves preschool through 12th grade, on two campuses with an affiliate school in Seoul, South Korea and is grateful for the leadership and experience that Ian brings from a wide range of Christian cultures to our uniquely diverse, covenant Christian school in metro Atlanta.
